The Banner Engineering RSio remote safety I/O block is a rugged, IP67-rated solution designed to simplify safety system architecture by moving I/O out of the control cabinet and onto the machine. It features six independently configurable hybrid safety inputs and two configurable safety outputs, providing unparalleled flexibility for system engineers. By supporting EtherNet/IP™ and CIP Safety, the RSio integrates directly into the Rockwell Automation environment, allowing for configuration entirely within Studio 5000 without the need for additional proprietary software.

A standout capability of the RSio is its support for ISD. This allows users to daisy-chain up to 32 ISD-enabled safety devices per input, up to 192 devices total on a single block, while maintaining the highest safety ratings (Cat 4/PLe). This smart wiring approach significantly reduces cabling costs and installation time while providing granular, device-level diagnostic data to identify the exact cause of a machine stop, drastically reducing downtime.
