MxL76503 18 V 3 A Fast-PWM Synchronous Step-Down Converter

The MaxLinear MxL76503 fully integrated synchronous step-down converter supports up to 3 A continuous output current over a 4.5 V to 18 V input range. It employs a proprietary COT control scheme, delivering fast transient response and maintaining a stable switching frequency in continuous conduction mode. The device is optimized for use with low ESR ceramic capacitors and features an internal compensated error amplifier for precise line and load regulation.

Two selectable operating modes are available: PFM (MxL76503N) for high efficiency at light loads and forced PWM (MxL76503A) for low output ripple and fast transient response. Integrated protection functions include undervoltage lockout, overcurrent protection, undervoltage protection, and thermal shutdown with auto-recovery. The compact 6-pin SOT23-6L package enables space-efficient designs.
