The design enhancements and the low-power 28 nm process technology reduce the power consumption by up to 40% over existing solutions. The 88W8997 features a high level of integration, including dual-band power amplifiers (PAs), low-noise amplifiers (LNAs), and switches. Helping to reduce board-level BOM (bill of materials) to the bare minimum and enabling easy chip-on-board and module design for board markets.

  • 2x2, MU-MIMO combo, with low-power 28 nm design
  • Bluetooth 5.3 includes support for features like 2 Mbps LE and direction-finding using angle of arrival (AOA) and angle of departure (AOD)

  • Concurrent applications support a device having two independent radio links without compromising the 2x2 MIMO link
  • Precision indoor location capability, including IEEE 802.11mc as well as Bluetooth low energy direction finding
