G6S Surface Mount Signal Relay

Omron’s G6S is a compact industry-standard 2-pole relay designed to switch 2 A signal loads. It has different terminal options, such as long terminals, which are ideal for soldering and mounting reliability, and space-saving inside-L and outside-L terminals. These unique structures are designed to withstand the infrared reflow soldering (IRS) process and have a latching option. Using the relay in a circuit where it will be ON continuously for long periods without switching can lead to unstable contacts because the heat generated by the coil itself will affect the insulation, causing a film to develop on the contact surfaces. Omron recommends using a latching (magnetic-holding) relay in this kind of circuit. The relay has a high dielectric strength of 2000 V_AC and impulse withstand voltage between coil and contact at 2500 V (2 x 10 µs). The dimensions of the ultra-miniature relay are 15 mm x 7.5 mm x 9.4 mm (L x W x H). Applications include telecommunication equipment, measuring devices, office automation machines, audio-visual products, security equipment, building automation equipment, industrial equipment, amusement equipment, and home appliances.
