Laser trimming of a very high resistance resistive pattern requires several precision trimming techniques. In order to adjust the resistance value roughly close to the range of the required resistance, the rough cutting pattern pictured here as 1 is used. For higher resistance, this pattern is repeated multiple times. Using the ladder pattern, picture 2, the resistance value gets one step closer to the required resistance value. More ladders are added to meet the need for greater adjustment. The final fine tuning is done by trimming fine adjustment pattern, as in picture 3.
