KTC3500 Low Quiescent Current DC/DC Controller

The Kinetic Technologies KTC3500 low quiescent current DC/DC controller supports boost, SEPIC, and flyback topologies. It can operate from a wide input range of 3.5 V to 60 V, thus supporting a variety of applications with input voltages from 5 V, 12 V, 24 V, and 48 V power rails, as well as multicell batteries.

The KTC3500 utilizes current-mode control with internal slope compensation, providing a fast transient response and superior output voltage regulation. The device features an adjustable switching frequency range of 100 kHz to 1.2 MHz, providing flexibility and allowing optimized design for various application needs. The device features an adjustable soft-start function to limit inrush current during startup. The precision enable/disable can be used to set the desired input undervoltage lockout (UVLO) threshold. The device has built-in protections, including input voltage undervoltage lockout (UVLO), output overvoltage protection (OVP), cycle-by-cycle current limit, short-circuit protection, and thermal shutdown.

The KTC3500 is available in a RoHS and Green compliant 10-lead DFN (3 mm x 3 mm) package.
