This slide will take a closer look at a couple features that are new in UltraScale+™. SmartConnect is enabled by architecture innovations in the UltraScale+ portfolio. SmartConnect technology comprises AXI SmartConnect IP and SmartConnect optimizations, including useful skew, time borrowing, retiming, and pipelining recommendations. Trade-offs and optimizations can be made to reduce the overall system interconnect cost based on the characteristics of the data movement in the system. SmartConnect can provide an additional 20 to 30% advantage in performance-per-watt at high utilization. Systems benefiting the most from SmartConnect are those comprised of multiple IP, DMAs, and system interfaces, including high bandwidth interfaces connected by AXI interconnect.
