Single-Pair Ethernet (SPE) 1000Base-T1

LEMO single-pair Ethernet (SPE), also known as 1000Base-T1, is being integrated into the latest generations of automobiles based on transmission standards (IEEE 802.3). This technology is designed to work over a single twisted-pair copper cable, providing an effective data rate of 1 Gbit/sec in both directions simultaneously. LEMO offers two types of insulators for this technology: the 0B.511 with two contacts and the 1B.512 with four contacts plus a shield. These insulators are compatible with both unshielded twisted pair (UTP) and shielded twisted pair (STP) cables, and a watertight version is available in the T series connector. These connectors are intended for automotive and industrial data transfer. SPE aims to save space and reduce weight with simpler cables, making it suitable for other applications such as machinery, robotics, and rail technology.
