Similarly, SiTime’s MHz oscillator provides Bill-of-Material and PCB real estate savings. In the example displayed here, a 1.2mm² SiT8021 eliminates two discrete XTALs and their respective load capacitors. The result is the PCB area is reduced by up to 90% and component count is reduced from 6 to 1. Keep in mind, the SiT8021 is extremely flexible. It is factory programmable from 1MHz to 26MHz.
