The Serial Attached SCSI, or SAS, standard is a communication protocol used to move data to and from computer storage devices. SAS is a point-to-point serial protocol that replaces the parallel SCSI command set. SAS offers backward compatibility with second-generation SATA , or Serial ATA, attachment drives. TE’s Mini-SAS product line is designed for applications based on the SAS, standard. This product can be found in equipment used to transfer data over a few meters or over long distances in a wireless network. It can also be found in equipment used to facilitate communication between a network and user equipment such as mobile phones or computers with wireless internet capability. Typical applications include base stations, storage systems, routers, servers, and switches.
