Mini-SAS interconnects are four-lane, high-speed input/output solutions that support data rates of up to 6 Gb/s per lane. Receptacles and plugs are offered in 26 and 36 positions and are designed as a high density solution with contacts on a 0.8 mm spacing. Mini-SAS products, including both receptacles and cable assemblies, can be used as an internal solution (inside an application) or as an external solution (on the panel or face of the application). Mini-SAS products are designed to the SAS 2.0 and 2.1 specifications. Cable assemblies can be constructed using 30, 26, or 24 AWG cable sizes and are available in lengths from 0.5 to 10 meters. The cable is crimped to the die cast backshell of the plug with a ferrule, offering 360 degree shielding and excellent EMI performance. TE Connectivity external Mini-SAS cable assemblies support the “trained system” requirements defined in the SAS specification. Trained systems automatically detect the performance characteristics of the cable assembly and then self-configure the system's data signal equalization settings.
