PCBs for LED lighting are generally made as multiples and joined together to make one lighting unit. The DF59 was created as a space saving connector solution with good operability and a floating function. It is a 2 mm pitch, three-way connector system: wire to board, board to board joint, and short-circuit plugs, mated to a common receptacle. The wire-to-board version is a swing lock, the board-to-board and board-to-short pin are friction lock. The board-to-board connector allows for ±0.5mm float in the X, Y, and Z axial directions. This floating function allows for PCBs that are not perfect aligned and for thermal expansion.
