Looking at the operation of the LSF translator first, its operation is similar to using two MOSFETs back-to-back with a common drain. A single Enable pin controls both pass transistors. The customer should always connect this Enable pin to the Reference B voltage via a 200 kΩ resistor. The internal voltage at each gate will then be Reference B voltage, which is equal to Reference A voltage plus the threshold voltage. This means that all the gate voltages are determined by the lower voltage Reference A, which is important for correct off-switching. Since this also means the customer could get a conflict for a high-level signal on Reference A voltage, the customer should always use an open drain driver or a pull-up/pull-down resistor to control the Enable pin.
