Current-Sense-Slide2

In their most basic form, integrated current sense amplifiers are built using a standard operational amplifier and resistors to provide a set gain and single-ended output. Resistors are added to this basic op-amp, in order to form a difference amplifier. Due to the functionality of current sense amplifiers, the resistors are used to attenuate the input voltage in order to bring the input common mode voltage within the amplifier Vcc range.
