When using the non-floating MM126036 test probe, a small amount of misalignment (+/- 0.7 mm) can be tolerated between the probe and receptacle as shown. With this fixed-probe arrangement, the receptacle, and the DUT to which it is attached, must be able to float horizontally in order to mate the probe to the switch connector receptacle. The choice of whether or not to use this particular automated test probe depends on the customer’s actual test setup. If a fixed-probe arrangement is not suitable, the floating probe (MM126037) may be a useful alternative.
