The soft start up feature works in the first millisecond after the power MOSFET starts switching and it increases the drain current limitation. In this phase, the system tries to works at its maximum drain current because the device sees a short circuit condition. Thanks to this feature, the peak drain current is increased cycle by cycle up to IDlim value. The hysteretic thermal shutdown embedded in the power section provides a very effective protection of the zone that is actually generating heat. This results in safer and more reliable operation. The power section includes high-voltage start up and 60V under voltage lock-out circuits. This results in the most efficient start-up and bounce-free turn-off.
