ST also offers the STW81200 for addressing frequencies from 6 GHz to 47 MHz. The STW81200 has three VCOs as compared to four on the STuW81300. These VCOs cover from 3 GHz to 6 GHz. Another feature of the STW81200 is a very versatile output divider that can perform division by one, up to division by 64, to provide output frequencies from 47 MHz to 6 GHz. It also has two RF outputs, but both RF outputs can be exactly the same or they can provide different output frequencies. Therefore with the STW81200 it is possible to have two outputs simultaneously providing a synthesized frequency and a divide by one to divide by 64 of that frequency. The architecture of the STW81200 is very similar to that of the STuW81300, with the phase frequency detector, the charge pump, the control voltage, and a 21-bit sigma/delta modulator for doing the fractional division. The STW81200 allows for an external reference frequency with a direct, divide by two, or multiply by two option, and has five integrated LDO voltage regulators to allow it to be powered by a single supply voltage from 3.0 V to 5.4 V. It is also available in the 6x6 package, and is fabricated using the same 250 nm silicon-germanium BiCMOS process. This product is in full production, samples and evaluation kits are available.
