The STuW81300 uses the latest fractional-N architecture techniques with a 21-bit Sigma-Delta modulator to set the division ratio. It also features a dithering function in the Sigma-Delta modulator which allows the device to spread out the fractional spurs over a wider band, and thereby achieve better spurious performance. The STuW81300 features four separate low-noise VCOs, each with a different LC tank structure, allowing it to run from 3850 MHz to 8,000 MHz (3.85 to 8 GHz). Combining that with an on-chip frequency doubler and divide by two block, the STuW81300 outputs can cover from 1.925 GHz to 16 GHz.
